The panelists include:
- Deborah Faul, a member of the Muslim community
- Hal Moore, an associate of the Jesus Seminar
- Dr. Steve Peterson, a leader with "Keeping the Commandments"
- Jim Stauber, a member of the Duluth City Council
- Russ Stewart, a member of the Duluth City Council
- A representative of St. Mark AME Church
The forum is in honor and memory of Rev. Arthur Foy, III, who had agreed to serve as a panelist before he died in an automobile accident on March 25. Pastor Foy's faithful example of publicly working to build bridges in the community is an inspiration to all of us left to carry on his legacy.

Framework for Respectful Dialogue
- Recognize that a diversity of legitimate opinions on this topic do exist. Some voiced here may be ones with which you disagree, yet this space is provided us the opportunity to listen to each other in order to build a stronger community.
- Address the issues under discussion, rather than individuals or personalities.
- Respect time limits for each speaker. (Speakers will not be interrupted during their allotted time. If the moderator deems a participant’s comments to violate this framework, he may intervene to redirect comments.)
- Questions for panelists can be submitted in writing and will be addressed to the panelists as time permits.
- Stay for food to continue the dialogue.
Structure for Our Time Together:
3:00 – 3:30
Panel Discussion: Panelists will each have 5 minutes to present their perspective on the following questions:
- How should people of faith keep God’s commandments? In light of this, what is your perspective on the issues surrounding the Ten Commandments monument at Duluth’s Civic Center?
- More broadly, what is the appropriate role of religion in public life? What are examples of effective relationships between religion and politics?
3:30 to 4:30
Members of audience can sign up to give public comment. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes to share their perspective. Written questions can be submitted to the panelists and will be asked as time allows.
4:30-5:00
Food, fellowship, and continued dialogue.
